Job Coach

This is a part-time, four-day-a-week role with a small team of job coaches — a rewarding opportunity to make an impact every day.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:
  • Promote the independence of interns in a working environment including support with decision making and travel training where relevant.
  • Participate in regular job coach training and professional development to ensure that the quality of coaching remains high.
  • Liaise with external placement and employer partners to encourage ongoing feedback and evaluation to ensure we retain successful placements year after year.
  • Adapt existing training and development measures to meet the needs of existing and future placement partners & employers.
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
  • Understanding and experience in supporting young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge of Supported Internships, FE and Supported Employment.
  • Experience working in an educational setting and coaching young people with SEND.
  • Preferable training in TSI (Training in systematic instruction).
  • Strong communication & organisational skills

Follow-On Job Coach

We are looking for a strong candidate to assist us with the tracking and quality assessment of our graduate job placements with the aim to ensure individuals achieve sustainable employment, an enjoyable working life and that we are contributing to a more inclusive workforce. Ideally this is a full-time position but part-time would be considered for the ideal candidate.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:
  • To be in contact with graduates for 5 years following their programme, including their families and our employer partner management and team members.
  • To support the graduate and inform employers ensuring graduates get assistance with benefits, workplace adaptations, communication, training needs and learning routines.
  • To set up a Mission EmployAble alumni and parent groups for ongoing feedback and parent voice.
  • To signpost graduates and employers to other services to ensure they get the specialist support they require to succeed.
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
  • Understanding and experience in supporting young people with SEND
  • Knowledge of Supported Internships, FE and Supported Employment
  • Job Coach experience

Trainer

We are looking for an additional trainer due to the growing success of the programme. Must have an understanding of young people with learning disabilities, and experience in Maths and English either as a teacher/tutor/higher level teaching assistant. This job is part time - 3 days.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:
  • Contribute to delivering a quality supported internship programme to our interns, including engaging in a regular quality feedback cycle on design, development, and review of programmes in each curriculum area as requested.
  • Deliver Foundation Maths and English as well as EmployAbility Skills classes up to Level 2 where required.
  • Undertake teaching, learning and assessment activities in designated curriculum areas according to the requirements of external awarding bodies and the needs of our interns.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to ensure that the quality of teaching remains high.
  • Keep abreast of government guidance and statutory updates for education providers delivering supported internships.
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
  • Understanding and experience in supporting young people with SEND
  • Knowledge of Supported Internships, FE and Supported Employment
  • Teaching qualification and Experience working in an educational setting and coaching young people with SEND
  • Preferable (not essential) training in TSI (Training in systematic instruction)
  • Strong communication & organisational skills
  • Comfortable with driving a mini bus and hold a clean UK driving license.
